Case study Friedrich Niemann
Fully integrated ecommerce with Hyvä Commerce and Business Central
Friedrich Niemann is a German family-owned business with more than 100 years of experience in supporting professional construction projects. The company supplies and rents machines and tools for the construction, industrial, and trade sectors, while also offering customers the ability to purchase products directly online.
As their digital channel became increasingly important, Friedrich Niemann needed a reliable way to integrate their new Hyvä Commerce store with Business Central.

Implementing a new Magento (Hyvä Commerce) store and integrating it directly with Business Central using Commerce 365 for Magento.
The challenge: a fragmented landscape
Before the project, Friedrich Niemann operated on a combination of Adobe Commerce, Business Central, and the Pimics PIM from Allium.
As Friedrich Niemann's ecommerce activities continued to grow, the company was looking for a more streamlined architecture that could simplify processes and provide a direct integration of Magento with Business Central.
Key areas for improvement:
- A generic PIM in a Magento environment
Pimics is a generic PIM solution rather than a Magento-specific one. As a result, this proved to be more complex than anticipated. - Working in multiple systems for daily operations
The team had to work across different systems to manage products, orders, and data. - Limited synchronisation between systems
The existing setup only supported part of the required data flows, resulting in limited synchronisation between ecommerce and ERP.
“With Allium, everything was just too complicated. We never managed to get it working properly.”
The move to Hyvä Commerce and Commerce 365 for Magento
Together with their web agency Splendid Internet, Friedrich Niemann decided to rethink their entire ecommerce architecture.
The key goals:
- Move from Adobe Commerce to Hyvä Commerce
- Replace the PIM-based integration with a fully integrated Magento–Business Central setup
- Eliminate unnecessary complexity and reduce costs
During Meet Magento Netherlands, Carsten Stech from Splendid Internet met Tys van den Heuvel from NVision. At that time, Friedrich Niemann was actively searching for a standard integration between Magento and Business Central, which was one of the reasons Carsten attended the event. Following this meeting, Splendid arranged a demo for the Friedrich Niemann team.

After the first conversation, we immediately knew: this is the integration that fits us perfectly. It offered everything we needed, so the decision was easy: this was the way to go.

Direct ERP integration with a PIM specifically designed for Magento
Friedrich Niemann implemented Commerce 365 for Magento to create a direct connection between Magento and Business Central.
Unlike the previous architecture, Commerce 365 combines integration and Magento-focused product information management within a single solution. This removes the need for an additional system while keeping product management closely aligned with Magento.
Key improvements
1. Magento-focused product management
Product data is managed directly from Business Central using Commerce 365's PIM module, specifically designed for Magento.
2. Real-time synchronisation
- Product data
- Orders
- Stock levels
- Status updates
3. Efficient workflows
By bringing ecommerce and ERP processes together, the new architecture enables a faster and more streamlined way of working.

With the NVision integration, this is the most efficient way of working we can imagine. I honestly don’t see how it could be improved. It just works perfectly, and we’re really happy with it.

4. Fast and lightweight frontend with Hyvä
The Magento frontend, built with Hyvä, ensures a fast and modern user experience.
Implementation: fast, focused, and successful
Kick-off: January 16, 2026
Go-live: March 2, 2026
Despite a tight deadline, driven by the expiration of the Adobe Commerce contract, the project was delivered on time.
“The timeline was ambitious, but everything worked out perfectly.”
Why the implementation was so smooth
- Clear scope
- Strong internal knowledge of both Magento and Business Central
- Close collaboration between Splendid and NVision
- Fast and responsive support from NVision
- Structured onboarding with training sessions and project guidance
To support the implementation, NVision provided multiple training sessions covering general usage, catalog management, and sales processes. These sessions were recorded and made available in Aligned, alongside project checklists and documentation, allowing the team to revisit information and work independently when needed.

The training was very helpful, and being able to watch everything back was great. Aligned gave us a clear overview of the project and what needed to be done.
